After Saudi Arabia, Kuwait also made a big decision against Lebanon
Kuwait City: After Saudi Arabia, Kuwait has also decided to stop importing fruits and vegetables from Lebanon. According to the Kuwaiti newspaper, verbal instructions have been issued after a meeting between the officials of the Ministry of Commerce and the importers.
The state news agency quoted a statement from the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry as saying that Kuwait fully supported Saudi Arabia’s decision to suspend the import of fruits and vegetables from Lebanon to curb narcotics.
The statement said the Saudi government’s sovereign decision was aimed at preventing illegal drugs from entering its territory and protecting Saudi citizens.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry urged Lebanese authorities to take steps to ensure that their imports are free of illicit substances.
It may be recalled that Saudi Arabia had banned the import of fruits and vegetables from Lebanon to curb drug trafficking.
According to the ruling, fruits and vegetables imported from Lebanon will not be able to enter Saudi Arabia and will not be transited to neighboring countries.
