Cancer Film Festival resounds with Ukrainian woman’s protest slogans
LONDON (Reuters) – A Ukrainian woman chanted anti-Russian slogans while protesting half-naked on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival.
According to the British newspaper Daily Mail, screams were heard on the red carpet on the fourth day of the colorful Cannes Film Festival in France when a Ukrainian woman entered the event half-naked with the Ukrainian flag painted on her body.
While walking on the red carpet of Hollywood actors, the woman suddenly turned to the red carpet and started chanting various slogans against Russia and its soldiers. “Stop our rap,” it was written.
According to the report, the woman was protesting against the continued rape of Ukrainian women by Russian soldiers because Russian soldiers have been accused of raping Ukrainian women since Russia invaded Ukraine.
The security guard on duty at the event covered the woman with his coat and tried to stop her, but she kept screaming and Cannes echoed the Ukrainian woman’s slogans. Security was soon restored and the woman was apprehended and taken out.
During this time many photos and videos were made which are currently circulating on social media.
It should be noted that the Russians were barred from participating in the Cannes Festival to express solidarity with Ukraine, while on Tuesday the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky also addressed the event via video link.
