Dilip Kumar launches legal proceedings to buy Raj Kapoor’s house
Peshower: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has resorted to law to take possession of the houses of Indian actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government enacted Section 6 and Section 17 of the Land Acquisition Act 1894 to purchase the ancestral homes of Indian legends Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor. Under which the government can now take possession of both houses.
After the implementation of the provisions, the government will now implement section 9 in the next phase and the owners will be invited to receive the amount officially fixed.
In case of any objection from the landlords, an appeal has to be filed within 15 days otherwise the government will take them into its custody by announcing the award of both the houses. Homeowners will be able to challenge the Deputy Commissioner’s decision in the High Court.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to turn the ancestral homes of Bollywood stars Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor into museums, prompting legal action.
It should be noted that Haji Lal Mohammad, the owner of Dilip Kumar’s ancestral home, had refused to sell the house for Rs 8 million.
