James Perse Biography:

James Perse was born in Los Angeles, California in 1972.  

James’ youth was divided between the beach, the hockey and the floor of his father’s innovative LosAngeles boutique, Maxfield.  

Together with Maxfield at the forefront of putting la to the fashion map, James received an outstanding education on cutting edge fashion from Europe and Asia, on modern architecture, furniture design and on the elegant and the clean-line.Paradoxically, sports led James to his initial foray into fashion.  

Enthusiastic about baseball caps, he may never find one that was smartly equipped – with quality construction, shape, fabric as well as colour.  Back in 1991, James attempted to help make the perfect cap for Maxfield plus it wasn’t long before clients became clients – film directors purchased hats for his or her cast and crew and record labels bought them .
