Senior director S. Suleiman passed away
Leading director of 60s and 70s Syed Suleiman alias Suleiman died in Lahore at the age of 80.
S. Suleiman was the husband of classical dancer Zarrin Pana who performed in 42 films from 1962 to 1969. According to his wife, S. Suleiman had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time.
Santosh Kumar, the two most famous heroes of the industry in his time and S. Suleiman, the younger brother of Darpan, have been undergoing treatment in private hospitals at different times during the last one year due to illness. The mourners include a widow, a daughter and two sons.
According to Zarrin Pana, his eldest son is living abroad. Upon his return, Suleiman’s funeral prayers will be offered on Friday, April 16 at a private society in Lahore.
S. Suleiman directed 48 films between 1961 and 1998 and later directed about half a dozen TV serials.
His famous films include Gulfam, Baji, Lori, Aag, Mohabbat, Intezar, Zeenat, Tasveer, Anari and others.
